Question 1990 ecu switching 6 and 14 pins

i have a 92 talon tsi and i want to put a 1990 ecu eprom in my car i was told to switch pins 6 and 14 i quiet dont understand how to do that do your just pull the pins outs or cut the wire if any one knows how to switch pins can you please help me..

You just cut and solder the wires. Dont try to remove the actual pin. This link will show you a picture of the ECU so you know what pin is what.

Uhh...Why not?

I physically removed pins 6 and 14 and swapped them. They come right out if you do it right, just takes some tweaking.

This is lame.

It takes about 30 seconds to swap them. We even have a tech article on how to remove the pins from the connector for those that have never done it so we don't have people cutting the wires.
