Accel 8mm Plug Wires, any good? Or is Mag 8.5 the way to go?

Accel's are fine. No need for the magnecores.

I have the magencores but have ridden in dsm's with accels.

Dunno anything about Accel, see them sold everywhere though. Had a set of Magnecor's in my MR2, had bad luck with them being loose on the plugs. Not running stock plugs, but stock wires fit those plugs fine. Dunno... :)

I bought Magnecores... they lasted 1 year. I then bought Accel 300+ 8mm wires and they've been golden ever since (3+ years). I think they are called Accel Thundersport 8mm now.

I bought accel and would recommend them to anyone. And its cheaper if you change you plug wires with your plugs. I think that Magnacors and hot wires are a waste of money for a product that only last a year.

I have heard good things about Accel wires. My friend Mike Huml had them on this 91 Talon and had no problem with them. His car was in the 11's with them, producing alot of HP. I think I'm going to be going with them also. For the price you can't beat them.:thumb:

I use the Accels and they work great. I did have them get discolored from the heat of the valve cover after a year and I took them back w/ my reciept and got a brand new pair! They have a lifetime warranty w/ your reciept -MIKE

Well its been about 4 months with the Accel 8mm wires, and still work perfect, and they hook onto the plugs properly just like OEM wires.
98TsiAWD where did you purchase your Accel wires for $58 bucks at, that's a good price? I'm currently using the Magnecors and I'm not pleased with them at all. The #1 cylinder plug boot on my Magnecors is very loose and causing mis-fire problems. Thanks for the info!!

i love the accels i got mine for free from a friend cause i helped him put in some stuff on his dsm they work great .........and what can you say bad about brand new wires for free havent had a problem.....also i did notice in my friends car that the mags he had would misfire a lot in cylinder 1 to cause they were lose ..............i think we might have a new contender and they are cheap :dsm

I have Accel's on my car, they have only been on there for 3 months but no problems yet. I am glad to see a lot of other people successfully running them.

Hey thanks, I ordered these wires yesterday at 3pm and they got delivered today at 1:30. That was really quick.. I'll install them later today and see if they fix my idling problems.
