Just wondering about what some of you guys use to deter little animals that might want to make a home of your vehicle during the winter. I dont really want to use moth balls, I heard something about bounce dryer sheets placed around your car, or just plain ol' mouse food, but my mother said she doesnt want any little dead animals in the garage, what ever works best i will use though, thanks

Put the car up on jack stands and put TIGHTLY wound barbed wire around the base...oh yeah dont forget the mini land mines around the car...
This is a very good question, I'm trying to think of something innovative and i'm failing at the moment.

Oh!, try puting a flat piece of aluminum in btw the jack stand and the frame. Make it large enough for animals to not beable to climb up the stand and hop over anything.

Put a rag in the muffler, this prevents mice from crawling in there and dying. They can also go inside the airbox and chew up the paper filter for nests, so its also a good idea to put one on the intake too (if you still have one).

This is unrelated, but I wanted to share a story about dead animals in a car. My dad bought an old rx7 for like $100 and it ran, but not great. I went there to start it and he was behind the car to see if it was smoking or anything, and when I would give the car a little gas, dead mice were flying out of that thing like crazy...haha. There must have been around 7 or so that came out.

The #1 thing that keep animals away for me, is Michigan's cold-ass winters. I don't usually see too many animals peaking around my car when there's 30" of snow outside and it's below 0*.

Another thing that helps is a garage with a roof, walls and a closing door.....

Are animals really that much of a problem with garages? 5 years of winter storage with 6 different locations, and I've never even had a mouse issue.

Instead of keeping mice away from my tailpipe and air filter, I'd be more concerned about keeping them out of the garage all-together. Go buy a case of great stuff and seal up the place....

i am not sure either, i have never had a problem, i have been storing cars for years. we had a car that was in storage for 10 years it was on jacks and in one of those drive in car covers that you zip up with moisture bags and stuff

Seriously, Ive used dryer sheets in my *cough* Probe gt *cough* for a few years and no problems yet :thumb: dont be worried to go overboard! use that entire damn box :rocks:

Put the jackstands in oil pans full of kerosene. Oh, and make sure the stands are four feet tall, so they're out of hopping range for the little bastards.

For some reason the image of Defiants car sitting four feet in the air with a moat of kerosene around it makes me roll on the floor.:D ROFL

Word ^^

Dryer sheets are the shit

Or you could make a fence of rat traps all the way around your car... infront of and behind the moat of kerosene of coarse. Just make sure you refill the kerosene moat often, otherwise it will all evaporate...

Ya, I was already thinking about dryer sheets, just was wondering if there were any other suggestions, like the moat of kerosene...hmmm Plus that box of sheets will only cost like $2. The kerosene method seems like it would be a little too much work for me...;)
