I'm trying to get this thing going, let's try for Friday, March 4th, ~10pm, at Q-Cup. I tried to get responses from guys for tonight, but it seems that it was planned a little too late. Like I said before, I'll probably go tonight anyways just to check it out. But for next weekend, I think right now is a good time to start planning. Like other guys said before, I think we need to just try to have consistent meets, regardless if it's small or not just to get a good amount of members attending. So again, I'm probably gonna go next Friday regardless. Just a hang out or cruise too, no street racing or anything. Just a simple hang out to meet other members. Anybody who is interested in going is welcome to come, you don't have to be from the San Jose area. I just thought it would be easier to have a meet for the DSMers who are close by. Any suggestions or input are also welcome.

Where is Q-Cup at? I need direction.
 
Okay, so I went there tonight, hung out with a couple of my friends I called up. I was there around 10, and it was pretty busy, a lot of people already there. I went to another pearl place to hang out, (around the Ranch 99 area), but that eventually got packed too. So if anyone has any better, less crowded place to hang out, please post. Dwnshft, man, I forgot to put the address, so here it is for the 4th if we still decide to meet there:

The date is still set for Friday night around 10ish
 
were you guys there till around 1130 12ish? I probobly won't make it till then.. I don't wanna go if every1 is going to be gone by then..
 
I stayed until around 12:30, and didn't even know I stayed out that long. Since we have a couple of days until Friday, let's try to get some conclusion on meeting time and place. I would still like to see if anyone has any input on a location. Also, I'd hate for the meeting situation to be like what Intelectualism brought up "...I don't wanna go if everyone is gonna be gone/leaving." So why don't we set up a "meet up" time? Like meeting at ##:##pm and ending at ##:##am/pm. I actually left at around 12:30 because I had work today at 9:00, if I was working my later shift, I probably would have stayed longer. Let's get some opinions/options/suggestions down so more people would be able to go. Any suggestions are open...


On another note, if a meet decided to turn into a cruise, where would be an ok place to drive around? How long? How far? Who's willing to go? Just trying to throw out some ideas.
 
I believe you can go to Sierra it's in the miliptas area. It's a mountain pass, I fergot exacly how to get there but I'm sure somebody here knows :p

:talon: Hey what up fellow dsm peoples? Hey theres always the Albertsons parking lot in Sunnyvale. not really empty, empty but definately enough space for us to fit and hang out and there's an in n out right across the street. Albertsons a the corner of Fair Oaks and El Camino Real. Its just a suggestion! Peace!!

any pearl place or starbucks has a goood chance that its a place people hang out at.. even more so if its in Milpitas..

all the places people have mentioned in this thread are spots that are regulars for meetups and just hang out spots.. not necessarily a bad thing.. its not like we can get a place all to ourselves anyways.. and u can check out other nice rides while we're there..

come out with a final spot soon. i should be over htere
 
Alright, it is already Tuesday, let's try to get the location settled. I think we should just stick to the original plan and keep it at Q-Cup. I placed the address on one of the above posts. So who is going? Maybe we should have the meet up time be 11pm if that's not too late for anyone. It is on a Friday, so let's see who wants to go.

My car still isn't put back together yet, and this week is bad for me. I'm working on plans for my wife's b-day. I'll try to make next month's meet.

I'd avoid Milpitas if I were you guys - due to the outrageous amount of ricer activity that's plagued that area the past 5+ years, cops are not very kind to loud exhausts. It's almost as bad as Fremont. I wouldn't want to go anywhere that already has a reputation of other cars hanging out regularly. That usually means the cops probably stop in regularly too. Not that we'd be doing anything illegal, but the less chance there is of a cop asking me to pop my hood, the better. The best plan would be to try and avoid popular hang out spots and cops as much as possible. Keep it low key, and sometime during the week if possible. Just a suggestion.
 
Thanks for the suggestions Ludachris. I was kind of thinking like that, but I'm not too familiar with the area. I would like a hang out at a low key spot, so like I said, it's already Tuesday, but not too close to Friday so we can make adjustments where necessary. Does anybody else have a suggestion for a location?
 
Okay, I'm searching for places that are open late, having a hard time finding some. Here are some ideas. I don't know this place, if anyone does, please give some input... I found a place called Hello Desserts! Here is the address:

It's in San Jose, it's open on Friday nights until 12:30 am.

Another place I was thinking of is maybe somewhere within Santana Row. I know there is a Chilli's, and a Fantasia, but I think they both close at 11pm. There are two parking garages though...

What about a Denny's or a Carrows? (And not a ghetto one, if there is such a thing). Just throwing up some ideas. Let's try to find a spot soon. Any ideas are welcome, no ideas are stupid, let's get them out.

Hrm, we could go to the Santana Row parking garage by Best Buy, then hit up Denny's somewhere around there (I'm never by my house so I don't know where there is one. :laugh:)
 
Okay guys, it's Wednesday, let's get the location down by tonight. Let's have a vote on it. I wouldn't mind meeting up at the parking garage at Santana Row, but is there a Denny's close by? If so, that wouldn't be that bad. Locations have been brought up, let's decide on one so nobody gets confused on where to go. And whoever reads this thread, please at least give a yay or nay on a location. Union City doesn't seem too far of a drive for me to meet, but I want to know how you guys feel about it. I want to have a unanimous or majority decision on location so everybody who wants to go can go.

So here is my vote on at least city:
1) San Jose/Santa Clara
2) Sunnyvale
3) Union City
4) Milpitas
5) Fremont

Let's hear some thoughts. It's gonna be Friday before we know it, let's not miss this opportunity to meet while there is a fair amount of interest in it.
