Valve spring compressors for 4G63 heads are hard to find and expensive. Here is an inexpensive way to get around this problem. This clamp works great to remove and replace valves on 4G63 heads.

All you need is an 8" C-clamp and a 5/8" deep socket.
Purchase an inexpensive 8" C-clamp from say Harbor Freight, just a few dollars.
Pick up a cheap 5/8" deep socket.

Cut a large slot in the socket as shown in the picture. The square hole (ratchet side) of the socket is welded to the end of the screw portion of the C-clamp. The bolt side of the socket is the part that actually presses on the spring retainer, with the opposite side of the C-clamp pressing on the head of the valve.
Then you just screw the clamp in or out to compress or decompress the valve springs. The slot you cut out of the socket gives you access for removing or replacing the spring keepers.
