Airdam material - not the Home Depot landscaping stuff
Not sure if there's much difference actually, but you can get it in different colors:
Colored Plastic
And it's actually sold by a race shop. I'm only posting it because I know it's come up and I haven't seen a real solution other than the Home Depot one. Hope this helps. Sorry if it's already been mentioned.

It's rolled up? I would like to see a picture of the plastic being used.

The company I work for caters to the circle track crowd, so naturally, we sell alot of this stuff.
I've never used it on my car, but it did make a nice backdrop to the trellis around the base of my pool.
Chris, it should work well for airdam material.

Most speedshops offer it rolled up (obviously to save on freight charges) and they also offer 4x8 flat sheets in .070" and .100" thicknesses.

They have white and black - the only two colors you (or I) would need.
I saw this stuff on a 240sx at the track a couple weekends ago and it looked like the same stuff used by all other race cars (even ASSCAR). They say it's 1/8" thick, which would be plenty thick and it's not expensive. Should work well for us DSMers!

While that's great, I'd still rather put a quality splitter on the front, although this underneath it would still help out.

Yeah, I ahve seen that stuff before at the local speed/circle track shop. It to me is better quality than the Home Depot special.
If you are looiing for a splitter Kyle, I have seen this one below and have actually seen people at the track using the exact same one. It is carbon fiber, 63" wide and 18" deep and it is $84.15. They also have the stabalizing bars as well.
Here is a shot of it head on.

I'm in the plastics business and I don't know what that material is. (I didn't look past that page to find out) But if it comes curled up in rolls I can't imagine it's stiff enough to push air out of the way at speeds after you unroll it.
I use 1/8" and 1/4" thick ABS on my car. It comes in 4x8 sheets and is easy to cut, trim, heat bend, and even paint. If you can fabricate at all you can make air dams, splitters, side skirts, grille plugs, air directors, whatever.

That's the one I'll probably order, just need to get off my ass and do it. I've already got the bracing and some kickass aluminum bodied turnbuckles designed just for holding splitters.

Anywhere we could purchase this online or something? Anywhere to get it at a nationwide retailer?
I did fire the car up this week, found a new problem, now more money to spend so that will put this mod off for another pay period at the very least.

I'll see what I can find out. We buy/sell through different channels than retail.

What are you using? Where did you get them? I'm looking for something other than screendoor turnbuckles from home Depot!

Nice find. I've been looking for something just like this. Carbon looks great, but being a front splitter it's gonna get beat up a little, and I can't justify spending almost a hundred dollars on a carbon one that gonna be all scratched up eventually, and it's cheap.

It's from Raceonusa, the giant name printed across the pictures.
Rick I bought these units. 8" versions, along with a pack of the backing plates.

I like those! Thanks for the tip!!
That RACEONEUSA splitter says it's made from "FRP", which might mean Fiber reinforced plastic but it still doesn't say what kind of plastic. I wish it had more detail.

I know Greg Collier used to run their old splitter, but that was back before it was part of their Hi-Flex design which doesn't result in the most confidence. I tried to e-mail them with no results.

Yeah, I wish it had it more details as well. But as Kyle mentioned, Greg was running this very one and it seemed to do fine for him. I dont recall him ever not liking it. Just he switched to something else later down the line. But, its a good price for a splitter.
Kyle - What did you think of it ??? Did you order it from RACEONUSA or somewhere else.
