I just recently purchased my 96 talon from my brother, and it was put into the shop to fix the tranny, as well as replace the clutch and flywheel with racing parts. After getting the car back, the check engine light came on. The car still runs well (at least in my limited opinion).

The fault is : P1105 Fuel Pressure Solenoid Malfunction (turbo)4g63t

What I want to know is what the possible remedies for this could be, and also if it might be easy enough for a new guy to repair.

On the driver's side of the firewall find the FPS.
Ensure that:
1) it still has a wire harness plugged into it
2) there are no exposed harness wires
3) there are no grounding wires from the EGR or purge solenoids touching the wiring
4) it still has 2 good vac lines connected (no cracks or holes in the line)
5) those good vac lines are plumbed to the intake mani and FPR

If all that checks out okay, then it's time to replace the FPS.

Ok, I cannot upload files to here for some reason. I found three possibilities. One is off by itself, close to the clutch reservoir. There are two other little things to the middle of the engine bay (next to the firewall), one is ovoid and the other is rectangular. Unfortunately I cannot upload pics to confirm which it might be.

No, the FPR (fuel pressure regulator) is located on the end of the fuel rail. The FPS is used to increase or decrease the fuel pressure at start-up by manipulating the vac signal to the FPR depending on coolant temperature.

Yes, that pic is for a 1G -sorry it was just what I found first. The location is pretty much the same on a 2G though.
