alright i replaced the CTS and the battery and it's still doing the same damn thing. it'll crank all day but it won't fire up. fuel is gettign to the injectors becuase i tested the fuel pump, i'm running out of conclusions here and i'm about ready to sell this damn curse. and to make it worse, i have no ####ign clue as to why smoke is being pushed through the inlet of the turbo

Hate to sound like a broken record, but you need to do a compression test. Hell a leakdown test might not be bad either. This will give you a better idea of the engines state. you could have a busted piston, and it's pushing oil out the exhaust. Really hard to say. Just best to start at the begining.

i don't have the stuff to do a comp test :( otherwise i would've done it from the get go. the gas int he car is 3 months old. but the gas light isn't on. plus i've been reading on other members threads having the same problem, i'm thinking one of the injectors is stuck open becuase the smoke smells like fuel.

Should be able to go to your local parts store and do the loan a tool program. Then you could check the compression. I would think if there was that much fuel it would also be in the gas? Gas is not generally white either. 3 month old gas should be ok.

it's as i feared the motor has lost compression, the oil rings are probably blown. i coudln't even get a solid read out, the needle kept bouncing.

results:
cyl 1: 30 psi
cyl 2:130 psi (then bounced repeatedley from 0-30 psi)
cyl 3: 90 psi (then did the same thing cyl 2 did)
cyl 4: 30 psi (then bounced like the rest of the cyl's)

you can also check the compression with some oil. Put some oil in the cylinder and see if the #'s go up any.

wow almost 2 months ago. . anyways after 2 months of sitting around i got off my ass and just stared at my engine and that when i noticed it. . . the spark plug wires, were in the wrong sequence, damn near backwards i believe. If that doesn't fix it it's most likely my CPS, but their is no CEL. While i was switching the plugs i discovered the #4 cyl wire was broke at the coil so i had to order a whole new set ($30 down the drain for a whole new set). I remember talking to the tranny shop who told em they such a struggle getting it started (bad battery) and i guess while they were diagnosing the problem to get it started they must ahave checked for spark form all the plugs and got it mixed up (because needless to say with a full charge on the battery the car would spark right to life with no questions). So I believe i learned the hard way to always check over the car after it comes back from any shop, which is a habit i will now soon pick up. Thanks for all the support and help guys! VERY Appreciated!!!

^^^^^ That is exactly why I do all my work myself. Just like the old saying goes, "Anything you want done right, you better do yourself" still holds true sometimes. Even if something seems too hard at first, your better off doing it yourself so you KNOW it's done right. Glad to hear your up and running again.;)

well there went that idea. . . still doesn't start.

analysis so far:
spark plugs 2 and 3 were soaked in gas and the same blue smoke that comes from the turbo inlet poured out of the spark plug hole after trying to start it.

1 and 4 were absolutely dry and not smoke at all.

a blueish gassy smelling smoke pours form the turbo inlet while trying to start it (yes smoke coming from the intake of the turbo)

plug wires are now in correct firing sequence.

my dad believes it's the CPS sensor. we bought a new one and i'm really trying to not install that myself. Looks like a PITA to replace. I'm trying to believe it's something else, maybe injector stuck open?

any thoughts? any? if you have any ideas to what it might be please step up.

Cylinders 2 and 3 fire from the same ignition coil, so I would look at the coil, ignitor, and maybe see if you are getting an on off signal from the ECU to trigger the coil.

wouldn't a faulty coil pack throw a code? cuzi have no codes being thrown, i don't get it, i'm starting to get really annoyed with this car and i'm thinking about selling it. I hate having a car that i have to make payments on, and doesn't run, and the worst part is is that the ####ing ECU won't throw a code to tell me whats wrong. it just won't start, simply put.

(just added)
also i just called mitsubishi and asked them about it. they said to also check the coil packs. as far as the smoke from the turbo inlet, he told me to take off the turbo manifold and try starting it again, if the smoke is coming from the cyl's it means the head gasket is blown.

okay, day 2 now, i've finally narrowed it down to a spark issue. between the plugs and the wires. the wires are brand new, so i'm believing that it's the spark plugs itself. I've noticed that the gas fumes that are coming from the intake inlet is really just expelled gas that is burnt up from the friction of the cylinders and being pushed into the turbo therefore resulting in the current state. So this is why i believe that the spark plugs are no good/fouled
