Spark Plug wire Question? Not asking which ones to get

Ok so lately I've been hearing a slight ticking noise when I'm on the gas. Its only when im giving it gas and it seems to be I only hear it up to about 3-3.5 rpms but this may be because of the exhaust being louder. I'm wondering if it could possibly be my spark plug wires. Also some times the car seems to bog a little below 3 rpms but that doesnt always happen. I did replace my wires when i first got the car with about 77,000 miles on it and they werent any specific brand of wires i think mopar maybe or something like that and now i have around 105,000 miles. How often should you change wires? do they wear out? Thanks

it depends on the brand the wires were... if you got some off brand it very well could be worn out...but have you checked your plugs?
generally its recommended to go with ngk bpr7es plugs

As for the ticking it could be a number of things..i would give it a tune up oil change, plugs, wires and then see....

It's a good idea to change them every other year.

Not with his mods (or lack there of, according to his profile). Click here and read. I would agree with Dee - every other year the ignition wires should be changed. And the spark plugs of choice for mildly modified DSMs are the NGK BPR6ES plugs. He doesn't have enough modifications to step up to the BPR7ES plugs yet.

Pop the hood in the dark and look for spark leaks.
