I have a 90 Gsx wit a 92 galant vr4 switchable Awd to Fwd Jdm tranny. I have 1,635 miles on the new clutch. My 3rd and 4th gear are not working right now and I know they are on the same rail anyway. I was driving on the parkway and all of sudden I heard a wierd noise come from my tranny. All sudden I'm in gear and the car won't move. So I pull over wait a while it goes in gear everything is fine, then it did the same thing. I can put the car in gear when I'm not pressing the clutch the tranny is acting as if I am pressing down on the clutch. The car won't move. Would it be the clutch or tranny? Thanks alot my car is still stuck right now faraway any info would be great.

I had a similar problem with my daily driver, My guess would be that the clutch is depressed in still and is stuck that way. Car you put it in and out of gear with out using the clutch and no noise is evident? If could be that the clutch is stuck and its engauged just enough to allow you to shift in and out of gears. What kind of clutch is it? You'll probably have to pull the tranny. It wouldnt be the tranny either cause if you broke something there would be alot of noise while engauging and disengauging. Hope this helps good luck!

Thanks alot there is no noise when putting the car into gear without the clutch. The clutch is a stock clutch.

Check the fork, make sure its lubed. I had this happen on my mustang.

I doubt the fork needs lube never heard of that one :nono: maybe the shaft that the throw out bearing slides on but not the fork. Anyway I took off the tranny the throw out bearing and pressure plate n clutch was fine. I spoke to a Dsm shop and they said it could be the input shaft. I tried to turn the input shaft by hand and it wouldnt spin but on my old awd tranny it does spin

I worded it bad, I should have been more clear. I ment where the fork pivots. This was on a differnt kinda tranny but on mine it was binding and causing the clutch not to disengage.

Hey watz up guys? Just letting you guys know the outcome. It was the tranny not the clutch or throw out bearing. I believe the input shaft is damaged. I got a new tranny now thanks again
