93 Talon Please help figure out what motor, pistons and head I have

I have a 93 Talon build date Jan 93 non-turbo. Its no race car , just to save gas.
can someone help me figure out what motor I have . I removed the head and found four broken valves and damaged valve seats in head and also two damaged pistons. I am planning to replace the pistons and head but im confused about 6 bolt, 7 bolt , 1g and 2g
Im told I have a 1g car with a 7 bolt motor and I dont know what the pistons would be called or what head I need.
please help me figure out what parts I have and what year cars I can use replacement pistons and head from.

from the looks of it, you do have a 1g (1ST generation), which means its either a 1.8 which is a single cam, or the 4g63 2.0 dohc (two cams) which is what you have. and since youre looking for pistons and a head for your dohc, you dont have to worry about the 6 or 7 bolt which is refering to how many bolts is holding your tranny to your motor. im guessing your going to be looking for stock pistons and head which are easy to find for your 4g63, wether you want used or new parts. i hope this info helps you and good luck with your parts..

oh yeah and you can also get your parts off of any 1st gen dsm (90-94) as long as its a 4g63 (which is the engine code) and thats pretty much all you need...

people are telling me different answers like 6 bolt and 7 bolt have different size crank jurnals for different rods and pistons. and I want a head that has the same size intake ports to match my intake manifold.and cam sensor . please more replies . thanks

Great! just what I was looking for.
looks like 92 1/2-94 they mixed parts, and I have 7 bolt motor(2g) with with 6 bolt head (1g) now to begin the part search.
Oh yea I didnt see anything about it 93 taks any different headgasket . but ebay sell 93-94 head gasket kit and im not sure why . if someone knows please let me know . thanks again

This means I can use any 2g non-turbo pistons and rods and any 1g head RIGHT ?

People do commonly swap 2g pistons into a 1g motor to bring compression up. However what I just mentioned is for the turbo car not the N/T car. I'm not sure what the compression ratio difference is. You're going to have to keep looking to find out for sure.
