Do all 1G 1.8L's have dual fans?

I have a 94 Eclipse with the 1.8L that I bought used. It has only one cooling fan (on the passenger side half of the rad), but I found the electrical connection that appears to go to the second fan. So, I'm guessing that someone removed one of the fans for some reason. . . If it is supposed to have two fans, I'm going to find one & install it.

that fan missing comes on when the a/c is turned on. so if u don't have a/c i don't think its to much of a problem but u could try hooking them both up to come on at the same time for better cooling, but thats up to you :thumb:

This car does not have A/C, so maybe I don't have a problem after all. Thanks for the input.

Yep. A/C fan. as stated above you can put another in for cooling puposes you just need to wire to the cooling fan to make it come on at the same time. :thumb:

It sounds like someone was having cooling problems and hard wired it to keep it on all the time. Just a theory though. They should only turn on when it gets to a certain temp.
