My car died and wouldnt restart. the first thing i looked for was fuel and spark. well i took the plugs out and they were wet with fuel. so i then went to the coil. i disconnected the plug that powers the coil. on my 96 gsx there were three prongs. the center prong got constant power when the ignition was on. i figured the other two would pulse when the engine is cranked over. i cranked the engine and niether of the prongs showed power to my testlight. did i do this right? my ecu isnt giving the coil signal to fire, am i right? so does the problem have to be the crank sensor? as far as i know, 95 and 96 4g63 doesnt have a cam sensor so if there is anything it could be besides the crank sensor please let me know. if i do have to replace the crank sensor is there any adjusting to it? anything i should know about it? i know where it is, hopefully i dont have to take the timing/balance belts off. can i get to it with just the timing cover off? someone let me know if there are any other probable causes or diag. tests i can run before i tear into the timing case. i dont have access to a code reader. please help and thanks

let me get up to speed on this....... your car cranks, but doens't fire over.......you are getting fuel to ALL four cylinder..... but you're not get spark to all FOUR cylinders....? Well, i love to suggest this.... i would check your power transistor. If you follow the wires coming from the coil pack, you should be able to find it. It looks just like a gameboy game that plugs into a harness. It will have eight prongs on the wire harness. If you have a repair manual, turn to page 5-4 or so, and it will run you through the procedure on how to check this component. Hope i have contributed.
