Alright i have done the 6 bolt swap in my 2g. i was having tons of electrical problems getting the car started. I finally got them all sorted out or so i thought yesterday.

We got it running finally. it was idling at like 1500 rpms. oh yeah and i want to mention first that i am running of an AEM EMS right now but that shouldn't be the problem with this right now. Ok so car was idling at 1500 rpms. I turned it off replaced fuel filter becasue of a little leak. apparently it fixed the small leak and i was ready to take it for a test drive. Before i drove it it was idling from about 1350 to about 1600 rpm's. i waited for it to settle down, i thought that it was just becasuee of the EMS and it was learning the car. But after reading about a bunch of problems , i think it has somethign to do with idle surge.

I waited for it to idle smoothly, then i took it for a drive, it was little jerky at first but that it ran smooth for about 3 mins. i didn't take it over 3000 rpm's .. i drove it up to like 3rd gear to a gas station to check tire pressure. when i parked it started to idle surge agian pretty high upwards near 2000 rpms. I was waiting for it to settle down and it did after idleing for 2 mins. It idled at 1500 smoothly for 10 secs then it went back to idle surging again. I thought if i drove it it would settle down i drove it for about a min, then all of a sudden as i started to give it gas it would hesitate, and it didn't want to respond i was in 3rd gear when this happened, i downshifted to second and tried to give it a little gas and nothging, it sounded like it was bogging out, it was engine braking fine, but when i tried to give it gas it still wouldn't respond. And it eventually stalled out. I couldn't start it back up it woudl try and turn over and i would give it alittle gas it would start for a half second but then it would stall back out again.

I towed it back to the shop because it was too dark and i want to work on it again today.

It sounds liek that idle surge problem. But with idle surge it sounds liek everyone is stll able to start their car up and it just idles bad, but mine has somethign to do witth the gas as well.

Does anyone have any ideas?

please help

Check all your vaccum lines, check for unmetered air comin in first to make sure everything is properly connected. Then, if that doesn't do it, locate the ISC Motor below the throttle body and to the left, unscrew it, unplug the connector, check the o-ring and test it to see if its bad

ok, i don't have many vaccum lines, i have blocked off my egr valve. i will check the isc motor. im not sure which one it is though because i know your tps sensor is righ tthere too. How many wires are going to the isc motor?

I remember a blue wiring hangign down around the alternator that was unattached to anythign and i think i traced it to somethign called idle air controle , does that ring a bell to anyone.

I just don't understand how it ran fine and then all of sudden not. Nothing should of changed. I didn't turn real fast to make anythign detach or nothign should of melted hopefully.
