Has anyone had their GM MAF leak under boost?

With the GM MAF installed in blow-through I am getting a huge leak from the MAF itself, the car starts to run like crap when the boost comes on, air is pouring out from the thing around where the plastic connector box comes out of the MAF clamshell. I took it apart and I don't think it's sealing there despite the fact there are o-rings on each side. I'm thinking about applying a bead of RTV around both sides, anyone else have this problem?

I know this is an old thread but I just did a BLT and I can't build any pressure. I used soapy water and found that my GM MAF is causing the leak. It is leaking where the plastic and metal meet. I was wondering if anyone else had this problem and how they fixed it? I'm thinking about using some RTV but I'm open to suggestions? Thanks

i had the same problem but mine only came with 2 bolts in the opposite corners of each other. what i did was put 2 new bolts in the corners missing. the car runs much better now but still crappy , im gonna try the soap and bubles myself. Overall i think its just a crappy set up, or im not setting it right:ohdamn: if u have any tips for me i would appreciate it:)

My car will not idle at 750 rpm steady and when I rev it up it stalls so I don't have any tips for you! If I try the RTV I will let you know the results. It can't hurt anything?!? The MAF is leaking so bad the gauge wouldn't move off of 0 psi.

I pulled my GM MAF apart and it looked like there should have been an o-ring on each side of the cast aluminum that would smash down on the plastic in the middle but there wasn't anything there to keep it from leaking. Does anyone know if there should have o-rings from the factory? I found two o-rings where I work that fit then I tried another boost leak test, this time I could get 20psi with no leak from the MAF.

I too am having a boost leak at the GM MAF showing up at about 20 psi. If I am reading this right there is a big o ring to seal the GM MAF, does anyone have the size of this ring, and know if it is available at a regular hardware store or is it sometihng that has to be sourced at a GM dealership, in which case do they have a part number.

Thanks in advanced.
