Hey guys whats up! I was just wondering if you guys could help me out. I have a small oil leak coming from my oil return line at the bottom part which connects to the oil pan. Ive used an oem gasket it still leaked, I added antoher home made gasket it still leaked, I even tried red silicon and it still leaked. I dont know what the problem is maybe Im overtightening the bolts can someone please give me some pointers. Im so freakin tired of this problem anyways thanks :dsm:

yeah check to see if you have the right bolts as well cause i had a leak too, tried evewrything but the problem was that my bolts were standard measurement and not metric and were slightly too small and caused it to leak. Also the washers are must as well, and that everything is dry and clean before putting on the line. What kind of line are you using, 1g 2g or aftermarket?

can you identify where exactly the oil is leaking from. I.e. the bolt holes or the bottom of the flange? If its from the bottom try using a new gasket and make sure everything is completely dry before bolting it up again. You should also use some permatex gasket sealent on both sides of the gasket, which should help it too. If its coming from the bolt holes itself make sure you are using the right bolts and nothing is stripped out in the pan. Try using some red threadlocker as well to make sure those bolts lock.

heres an easy fix, my friend and i have both had this problem on our awd's. what the other guys said is a must, but the leak may return after some hard driving . try this: take off the turbo and oil return line, in the middle of the return line you have that weird looking spring thing that doesnt actually do anything, cut it out! and replace with rubber oil line and a couple of clamps, 10bucks at most at autozone. clean all of your surfaces real good and bolt everything back in place. it works great, just make sure everything is bolted down tight, especially the hose clamps.

When you strip out the wimpy Metric Threads in the Oil Pan Tap them oversize to American 1/4-20 - Use the "eyes" off of Copper Electrical Lugs for Crush Washers - works great & still fits the holes in the Stock Oil Return Pipe flange.
