How hot should a 420a get?

When i run my car a little hard or let it set at idle a long time,my temp guage gets 3\4ths the way high.Is this normal?

no. i dont think that would be normal. i just replaced my thermostat today because i noticed that my car would NEVER heat up. come to find out, the old t-stat shattered. so, now its bak to what i would consider normal, just below half-way. ahhhh, so nice to have a heater again!! hope this helps.

sorry-forgot to suggest what you might do....try replacing the t-stat. the one you have now might be stickin a lil bit. and if youve got the extra cash, by a fail-safe one. that way, if it ever fails it locks OPEN and not closed.
