Car won't start cold

I can't get my car to start when it's 25-30 degrees outside I have to try for like 20 mins to get it to. Some times it acts like it 's firing and others not at all. Does anyone have any ideas on what could be causing this?

Check the coolant temp sensor, the one that feeds the ECU.

I am also am having this problem on my 1g. Is the coolant temp switch on the water neck where the thermostat is? Cause all of the wires are broken off, but my car starts after about 10mins of trying when it is cold outside.

It does matter on a 1g. Mine went bad last winter and it refuse to start up until after 15 minutes of cranking. You will only have the problem when it's cold out.

there are two sensors which one is it?

its the one on the bottom of the housing with 2 wires going into it. Plug has two pins one is vertical and the other is horizontal.

so the way my car is acting pretty much shows that this sensor is bad?

Yeaup pretty much. The ecu doesnt know how cold or warm it is outside so its dumping a butt load of fuel which is overloading the engine not causing it to start. If you can get your hands on a logger and if your Coolant temp sensor is bad it will read really messed up readings like -72 degrees outside. The sensor is like 30 bucks from an autoparts store and easy to replace.
