Ok i just finished rebulding my engine, i replaced all the gaskets got my head rebuilt and got new piston rings and rod bearings. The cars is blowing lots of white smoke all of the time, and it increases when i boost, any suggestions.

caused by water evaporating in the exhaust stream. Occasional puffs [are] usually from condensation in the exhaust pipes (especially in humid areas) or a water balloon up your stove-pipe. Continual white smoke [is usually due to] a warped head/head gasket and coolant entering your combustion chambers. If you're really unlucky, might be from a cracked head."

Some people have reported that high boost levels may promote white smoke, for some reason. Turning the boost down some cures the problem. This might be related to worn out seals on the turbo, which can leak oil into the exhaust. A bad brake booster can potentially let brake fluid into the vacuum line, which also produces white smoke.

Could the turbo be leaking coolant from the exhaust side because the car runs great it dosent misfire like it would if it had coolint in the cylinders.

Ok i just finished rebuilding my motor. replaced the piston rings, rod bearnings, all the gaskets, and got my head rebuilt. When i started the car it was blowing lots of white smoke but it was idleing smooth so i let it set and idle for like 30 minutes thinking it had to burn out all the oil and stuff from honing out the cylinders but that did'nt help. so i decided to take it for a test drive and it blows a lot more smoke when i boost and there is a big loss of power compared to before the rebuild. there is also some coolant coming out of the exhaust. This
sounds like a cracked head or a blown head gasket but the people at the machine shop presure tested my head before they rebuilt it and told me it was fine, does anyone know what could be causing this? :dsm:

pressure testing the head while its off the car has nothing to do with the headgasket once its on the car. This definetally sounds like your headgasket is leaking. Before you do anything drastic try pulling off your valve cover and retorquing the head. What do you have it torqued to now? Also you said you had the head rebuilt, did this include plaining it? Did you follow the correct torquing sequence on the head bolts? While you did the rebuild did you check the deck surface?

I know how you feel man, me and my dad had to pull the head off a VW golf once 3 times after a rebuild to get it right. The damn thing kept leaking, we torqued the mother down at 120ft lbs or around that, maybe more and it finally held.

I had the head plained and resurfaced, I also tightend it in the right sequence and torqued it to 72 foot pounds

It is very possible to have a coolant leak from the turbo into the exhaust. Some turbos can "blow" this way instead of the "oil" way. You may have a cracked turbo housing. Take it off and check it out. Or send it in to a shop to have it looked at. There are only a few ways coolant can get to the combustion chamber or exhaust and the head and/or turbo are most likely culprits.
