Well hell.. My Idle surge has gone awol.

Went outside this morning to start the car up and let the windows defrost / etc while I got my last cup of coffee...

She ran up to about 1800 RPM's, a little lower than normal for a cold start.
After about 20 - 30 seconds, i'm inside the house, and hear her rev down. Ok.. Hrm.. Does not sound right..

WTF.. No Idle surge.
Went ouside to leave for work, she's sitting at about 800 rpm's. Not a titter of surge.

To date, I have done the following:

1: Cleaned the TB (No help) Few months ago
2: Blokced off the ERG (No Help) Few months ago
3: Replaced the ICS Motor (No Help) Few weeks ago
4: Replaced the vacuum line to the FPR (No Help) 2 Days ago
5: Asked her nicly to stop this stupid idle surge fit and act like a normal car. (No Help) Since I bought her.

Not sure which one actually solved the problem (Or maybe it was all of them together.).

Just FYI, if your having idle surge, and can't figure it out, try #5... Beats me.

D.

i have the same problem that evens itself out.

if i go to work on the car, say on the stereo and i take off the + battery terminal for more than 5 minutes the ecu will reset. afterwards i will start it and it will idle fine, but as soon as i give it load(ie put it in gear and pull out of the driveway) and drive off, as soon as i put the clutch in to stop it will drop to 200rpm, lights dim and everything. it will do this for the first hour of full driving. then the next hour it will have learned and only drop to 400, still bad but bearable. by the 3rd full hour of driving it will have learned and idles fine when the clutch is pushed in. i replaced iac, tps, fiav, plugs, plug wires before i realized it would only do this after the ecu resets. possibly faulty ecu? who knows, do i care? nope, i can put up with a bad idle for a few hours before it learns itself. just gotta remember to only disconnect the batt for only a few seconds so it doesnt reset itself.
