Saskatoon,
I have a 4g63 turbo engine in my 91 Talon TSi ..... I need a new engine and I was wondering if I can put my turbo onto a non turbo JDM 4g63? I mean it is also a 2.0 and all.
If the answer is yes would it be a complicated job?

I would say if your pistons are good in your motor. it will be and easy swap. same motor different pistons. you need the turbo pistons put into the non turbo block. keep all your turbo head up parts if possible, like wiring, intake, coil, ignitor ect ect.. you just wont have the oil squirters. unless you plan on romping on the motor youll be fine without. This does not include the parts that you will need to replace on that motor that may be broke too.
in my opinion.

i think you will have to get the block machined in order to ues oil squirtes on a n/t block. its ok though you dont need them, and you will have higher oil pressure at idle.

the only thing that will be of much use to you is the crank and block from the 2.0 jdm nt motor. the pistons and rods are useful, the rods are the same but pistons are much weaker, so just put the piston rod combo from your turbo motor into this block.

i'm currently running turbo externals and pistons on a nt bottom end (block and crank) and have had no issues whatsoever since i put it together about 3000miles ago.

Thanks for the advice.....but what if one day I want to go to a bigger turbo and stuff....will a non turbo block hinder the project?

the block is 100% identical other than the oil squirters. many dsm shops have built race motors out of the nt 6 bolt blocks before. you just need to make sure you transfer over all your little parts like the oil filter housing from the turbo motor, the water pump cross pipe, all the lines and fittings from the thermostat housing and other stuff like that.

ok Last question......itll probably be a stupid one. but please bear with me guys :) WTF do oil squirters do and where are they in the block?

The cool the piston crowns, to keep them from doing what a Hershey's bar does in the back pocket of your jeans.
