I could feel it happen at the top of 3rd. All of the sudden no power.
Did a compression test and got 160 100 0 160.
Put oil in the cylinder with 0 and it's still zero.
This would lead me to believe it was a head gastket.
The motor never overheated though.
The plug on that cylinder has oil on it.
Would I have blown in to an oil jacket and no water?
The oil pressure actually seemed to be higher on the limp home.
Could it be anything else like a valve or ring.
Not what I wanted to do.

it's is (err was) the stock gasket.

I can see piston right under the spark plug hole so if that blew it did it off to the side.

A holed piston would pump oil like hell, and you'd smoke more heavily than the Bismarc on the run.

My bets are on a broken/burned ring land, or a nice pie-slice out of a valve face. I tend to doubt it's the head gasket.

Pulling the head should solve the mystery.

Those numbers tell me head gasket... if it was just a ring on number 3, then why would the number 2 go down to 100? Check your oil and if it's not milky, and your water isn't bubbling with the radiator cap open and the engine running, then odds are you just blew it into an oil jacket... it would cause the oil pressure to be higher, and you probably would be burning a little oil when it's running. I'd pull the head, check it out... you wanted to replace that stock gasket anyway, right? ;)
