Let me start by saying I got a 92 laser AWD that has been setting for atleast 2yrs. I have changed all the fluids and everything.. It starts up fine and everything, I did a compression test becuase the guy that owned it before me put in new rings it has 160 on all four cylinders..OK, I hooked my datalogger up just to see error codes, It had a knocksensor code so I look behind the intake manifold and find that the brace on the back of it has only two vaccum lines hook up and the knock sensor wasnt even plugged in, the brace only had the bottom bolt in which was causing a strange rattle. I fix that.. I plug the knock sensor in... The error code goes away...So then I go to the timing belt were theres another rattle.. I took off the top cover which was scratched on the inside and it still rattles but it only rattles at 3,500 RPMs. I looked at the power steering pump and it was vibrating like crazy so I took it off and it still rattles but now I noticed that when you rev it up the alternator belt look like its going to fly off, It will shake bad. I looked at my crankpulley and it has a little chip of the sideof it but doesnt look that bad......Well, Now I will start the car and it says error 44 which is ignition coil and right when you start it its fine but when you rev it, It sounds like you lost a cylinders and it plumments back down but if you get through all the bogging and get it back up to 3,000 rpms it clears up and only makes the rattle noise...I guess I could have summed it up quicker Theres just so much wrong....
