hi

First off, I have searched my ass off through here, nabr, life, etc, (basically every dsm board i am aware of) with no help.

I have a 90 talon awd, and it was pushing coolant due to a bad head. Well I put a new head on it yesterday, and now it wont start. It seems that I am only getting spark on cyl 3 & 4 (weird isnt it?) and not 1&2. I have replaced the Power transistor, Coils, Wires, CAS, and ECU, and I'm STILL cursed with this issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks
-Brian

I've tried that, MILLIONS of times, and it really doesnt make much a difference on how it sounds, (i was expecting at least a backfire), but it still acts like its trying to start of 2 cyl no matter where i put it, LOL, my car is giving me a headache...

thanks for the help though, it is greatly appreciated!

fresh from the machine shop :D

but i still dont understand why im not getting spark on cyl 1 & 2, i know it would start if i did, it tries, but just cant do it LOL

When I rebuilt my head I had problems similar to what you have. One of my problems was the Cam angle sensor wires were broken off the harness on the sensor. Another one of my problems was I didnt have my spark pulg wires on in the correct order. From the coil packs from the front of the car to the back its 4-1-2-3. From the top of the head Left to right (Standing in front of car) its, 4-3-2-1.

Edit** Also run through your hanress again and make sure you have everything plugged in...dont forget those connections by the thermostat housing.

turns out it was the harness, i started tracing wires, 99% of them were all brittle and cracked. I swapped out the harness with a parts car i have (that sucked bad) and it fired right up! thanks for the help though!!
