this a/f gauge is turning out to be more of a problem than its worth, but i wanna get my car working, so here goes....

i installed the autometer a/f gauge by tapping the wire that goes to the ecu for the o2 sensor. it ran fine for about 2 weeks but now i have a check engine light for a bad o2 sensor. the real kicker is that my a/f gauge is reading fine. can you guys please give me suggestions that are helpful instead of stuff like "get a data logger" and "ditch the a/f gauge" because ive heard it all before and i will ditch it for an egt gauge in the future, but i need help with this now. thanks!!!

Did you check your wire connections? How did you tap the A/F gauge, is it possible that the wire O2 sensor wire worked it's way loose from the ecu? If it got disconnected somehow, it's probably throwing a CEL because it can't read the sensor.

i used a wire tap from radioshack, like one of those little blue snappy things. ive used them before and never had a problem. i have noticed that over the past few days my a/f gauge has been giving weird readings. maybe it is just a coincidence that the sensor went bad after i installed the a/f gauge.
