hey,
in a 2nd and 3rd gear pull i will hit full boost [ 16 psi ] at 4.3kish RPMS. I'm lead to believe it's a boost leak somewhere, but my car doesn't not fuel cut. she pulls fine and dandy, it just takes a while... anyone have any ideas?

btw, my car has new plugs/wires

this is very weird, I too have the same exact problem, and was about to come on here to post it. I have a FWD Talon with a big 16g (ported). I find that in 3rd gear and up, when i hit it, it takes forever for the boost to get going. I do have boost creep on my car (read profile for all mods), and with the MBC set at around 19 psi (creeping to 21 psi), it takes a long time for it to reach the higher psi range in 3rd gear. the boost goes to around 7~10 psi, then quickly starts gaining up in the higher range (5k rpms maybe?). Any ideas??? (my plugs/wires are NOT new, but don't think these are necessarily the problem. They seem to run great.)

I recently installed an SAFC and 550cc's, they may not be tuned correctly. maybe this is part of the issue? (no pocketlogger, but used a friends a while back to get a base tune)

In racing, the time lost here loses me a couple of cars that I need to gain back in the top of the gear.
Thanks,
Mike

Since you think it's a boost leak, how about checking for boost leaks.

mike,
i dont think you should be running 19 psi without an FMIC. if we had knock sensors i bet they're be going crazy. and you're probably running really lean at full boost. definately get your hands on a logger and tune tune tune. i, unfortunately dont have an SAFC to tune with...

Um, 2g's have a knock sensor, you just can't read the data from the ecu on obd II cars. it was not a set diagnostic parameter.

and you can do 19spi on a 16g equiped car with a stock side mount. I have done it with 93 octane fuel and and around 11.5afr with very little or no knock.

Get a palm logger and watch the timing advance curve.

vacuum at idle is around -17 hg.. which is normal right???

I readjust my j - pipe and the butt dyno detected a better throttle response, but i still boost at 4000 rpms.. WTF? i really need to make an intake tester..

*edit* this souinds dumb. but how do you check if the flapper is working properly?
