Help with oil pressure gauge

i noticed the other day that my stock oil pressure guage at idle is on low and at excelleration it is at normal running pressure, on the guage there is L, then 1/4 inch up normal, then 1/4 inch up is H. my question is should my guage be fluctuating like this or should it always be at normal running pressure. any help would be appreciated.

your gauge pressure will normally go up and down with driving. at idle it's normal for it to be low, not incredibly low but low, and it goes up as you go through acceleration and falls when you get back idle again, it fluctuates, this is a normal condition.
