anyone else have this problem.. it's driving me insane. I don't want to do anything drastic like tear it off unless I know that it's okay to do that.
 
I had the same problem too. There are four bolts holding the center lamp assembly. Take it off and bend the bracket where it curves, so that the lamp presses against the rear window when you reinstall it. Don't bend it too much or else you'll break the bracket. To get the cover off, use a thin object to push in the pin in the center of the fastener and then pry the fastener out.
