start of i have a 1990 TSi. ok my tranny went out and i had it taken to a shop, it sat for 4 months on an empty tank of gas, when i finaly got my car back and started it up white smoke poured out of the exhaust. talked to some friends they said to just drive it a while probably moister and stuff in the tank. ive gone 2 full tanks of gas and about 450 miles, and still smoke. ive put gas treatment in and just had an oil change. smoking has gotten less but still there. after it gets warmed up the smoke seems to go away untill idle then smoke again. PLEASE HELP

Is your coolant overflow going low? Do you have coolant in your oil? The most likely causes are head gasket, turbo cooling line, or possibly the coolant line running through the throttle body. Also Bars stopleak works but many people will not use it because it can possibly block coolant passages in the head if you use too much. I ended up using it once on my car, just because the top of my radiator cracked out on the highway. goodluck

pressurize the cooling system with an air pump, connect it through the fill cap, when I had the spark plugs out of my other car I could hear the coolant bubbling out of the leak, but it was blown pretty bad.
