RULE OF THUMB WHEN GOING TO THE TRACK TO RACE:

-Bring around $50 for race fees/competition number, food, etc.
-Bring $30 extra dollars if you want to fill up with the Sunoco race gas they have on pump there
-If you run 13.99 or faster, you must have a helmet, or they can make you stop racing
-If you run 11.49 or faster, you must have at least a roll bar installed in the car
-Bring long pants, a sleeved shirt and closed toe'd shoes. T-shirts are fine but shorts, tank tops, and sandals/flip flops are not allowed due to fire issues
-Bring some extra tools in case something breaks and put them in a friend's car that's not racing
-Bring extra parts (oil, coolant, clamps, spark plugs, etc.) and put them in a friend's car that's not racing.

DRAGSTRIP TECH:

This is what the tech people at the drapstrips are going to be looking for when they are checking your car for safety:

-Battery tie-down (You MUST have this)
-ALL lugnuts are present and properly secured
-Sealed NHRA approved battery box (For those with relocated batteries)
-Coolant overflow tank is installed and won't move
-Seats are properly mounted and are sturdy
-Seatbelts/harnesses are bolted down and function properly
-No massive fluid leaks (A little oil or coolant is ok usually)
-Clothes (Again, no sleeveless shirts, shorts, or open-toe'd shoes)
-Helmet (Again, if you run 13.99 or faster, a helmet is required. Big events like Battle of the Imports require a helmet with a Snell 2000 rating or higher)

Yeah I Wanted To Get Some Stuff Going With Pacific Raceways, But I Was Looking To See If You Had To Pay To Go Into The Staging Area If You Not Gonna Race, Would Be Nice To Get All Our Dsm Crew In One Spot , Rather Than Having Them All Over, I Know They Have That Dirt Area For Public Parking But I Thnk People Will Wanna Stick Together Racing Or Not,, What Do You Think?

Well you don't have to pay to walk around in the staging lanes. Granted, you can't take your car into them if you didn't pay. But, the parking for non racers is right next to the staging lanes anyway. So...

I could be wrong now though. They were supposed to have been doing a crap ton of construction building new complexes there, including a new dragstrip. So I don't completely know anymore how it's setup!

Either way, I'll be there on the 10th to race.

True True,, Well Even Tho I,m Not Gonna Drag,, I,ll Still Turn Out To Watch And See What They Have Done To The Place.

How much to race etc? How many runs do you usually get in? I still havent been down, excited to go tho.

Never mind i didnt get the first one but whats up with them putting a day in the scheldule for like Imports are just for DSM show or something. i think for that we would have to have it warm up a bit.

Usually the Saturday and Sunday test n' tune days start racing at 10am and go until 6 or so. The Wednesday test n' tunes usually start at 4 and go until 10 or so. The cost is around $30 to race for an entire day, plus $10 for your race number the first time you go. Depending on how busy the track is that day you can get a ton, or very few runs in. I have been there many times and it varies by the day. I have gotten 15+ runs in one session, but I have also only gotten 3-4 in a whole session. It's all dependent on how busy it is, if people break and there is track cleanup, etc... It's an absolute BLAST!

I LOVE RACE SEASON!!!!

Yeah i allways wondered about that,, because Technically Speaking were not import cars.;)

I am going to hope that a 16oz Monster Can disguised in Metallic Red and double zipped tied with 500mph zip ties to a bracket securly bolted to the main frame will be accepted. :rocks: :coy:

Can anyone confirm if they may have it setup like years prior I have gone. I paid I think 20.00 to park in the area with the rest of the cars actually racing. I just did not get a wrist bracelet that allowed me to run on the track. We had all the cars parked together at the very end of the area right next to the staging lanes and there were even a few that parked across from the staging next to the fence. Then watched the ones that paid more to actually race. it was cool as we setup a pit area and kept guard of things like tires when folks swapped out the street for drags, etc...

Sometimes I know big big events (all weekend NHRA), if they feel there is not enough parking for all the race cars as well as observationists, they will not let you park inside for the smaller fee, you would pay as much as those racing...just to assure room for everyone needing it for trailers and what not..but for test n tunes....should be a cheaper amount to parkwith the group but not race....we need to get ahold of someone to confirm if it is still an option.

I have not yet taken my Talon on the track...would be cool since I have my break-in miles now but have some decent amount of tuning to do...anyone with alot of experience tuning the saf-c 1 with a pocket logger wanna help me out, it would be appreciated...really hard to drive and tune at the same time! LOL

(I did race my Celica GT as well as my old 67 VW Bug on the track.:rocks::confused: My best pass in the ol' Celica was a 15.9 and for a fwd, hit a 2.04 for 0-60foot. I was very proud of that launch! LOL

Also, you're supposed to have a fire jacket if you're running an aftermarket turbo..
Good thing mine is stock ;)

What I did last season was when it was uber hot out, wear shorts and have some sweat pants to throw ontop of your shorts when your class gets called :)

Well during test n' tune days the entire gravel pit area right next to the staging lanes is open for parking for spectators and racers changing tires, repairs, etc. Spectators can walk through the staging lanes and look around at the cars or whatever. They are pretty lax about that kind of stuff. As long as you don't pass the yellow line at the front of the staging lanes, it's pretty much open everywhere. There is no extra cost for parking in a specific area. It's either you pay racer fees or you pay spectator fees. That's it.

I can't seem to find concrete information on their website regarding pricing for spectators. A friend of mine might be coming but at this point there doesn't seem to be clear information on the cost of an entry fee, if there really is one at all.

Anyone have links?
