Who goin to BOTI AUG 1-2 2008?
So who goin with there running cars? This will be my first time actually racing in BOTI. This is the place to be when it comes to drag racing for imports. So DSM unite.. I wonder will evil eagle come out again? I heard its starts 4pm and ends around 11pm. So this will be a night event? That would be tight never been to a night event b4.

I posted this over on NorCalEvo:
NorCalEvo.net : BOTI (Battle Of The Imports) SAT AUG 2ND 2008
The guys from FULL FUNCTION will be there for sure.
Don't know how many cars will go but at least my car and another stock block 35r Evo that should go low, low 11's on race gas.
Jake by the way do you mind taking a peek at this vid:
20080715190400.flv - Video - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
I think i have TC issues but not 100% sure maybe you can give me your opinion (please wait until about 0:25 left in the vid to hear the slight whine and decel noise that J. Shepard said sounded normal to him.
Thanks and really hope to finally see your car in action and also to meet you face to face

Do you have a twin disc clutch? Also what disc are you running? I ask this cause non carbon carbon twin disc clutches will make the drive train sound like that on decel, it's just the nature of the clutch. Even some 6 puck clutches will do the same thing.

I'm not sure where you got that it's a $100 to race. But you are incorrect, it's $65 for all pro classes. When you have pay outs and contingency's as high as they are, then $65 is very respectable.

Thanks Jake after hearing your thoughts and Sheps as well as others it makes me feel a bit more confident that things are ok.
It's a QM Twin w/ cermetallic plates.
Our other evo at the shop with the same clutch doesn't make that noise which is strange to me but he also has a Shep Tranny & TC
Oh well i guess she guna get tested next weekend

I'm tempted to slap the GTK1000 on (I got all the parts I needed) and go out there next weekend but I have no funds to get the AEM EMS tuned so I'm out of luck... Anyways I'll be there to support the NorCal guys as usual.

its like 15-20 to watch, right?
I don't have any cars running that are fast enough to be worth racing. And bracket racing is stupid because the subaru svx or toyota tacoma always dials in better than you ever could hope for since they are atx. (seriously, the subaru svx is the cheapest bracket racing car ever invented. atx, v6 non turbo, awd, its as predictable as the weather in seattle)

I got the day off so I'll be there!
Just watching this time, I'm still putting my car back together. Why do rebuilds seem to take so long?

Dave, its because you start to think of one more thing to upgrade, then order it, and say oh hey xxxx part will compliment that nice, then again and again, and soon you've gone and ordered and re-ordered again and upgraded everything!!! haha
We've all been there before, sometimes more than once!

Yeah, that's it exactly. The tranny parts took longer than expected, and it was one of those things where I couldn't order parts until I had other parts first so I'd know what fits together. I keep finding ways to add a little more power. It's coming together now so it won't be long. I'm getting anxious to drive a fast car again, I've started retuning my DD and upped the boost a little.

I know exactly how you feel, Dave. That is the exact reason why my car is taking forever to get back together. "oh look, this is a good deal" "if I get this, I won't have to upgrade later" and it just keeps going.
I'm going to try my hardest to make it up to this. If I get enough work done on my car Friday and have time to do more on Sunday before I head back down to LA.

Looks like we will be there at this event. Wish more of you were running your cars. I've been to a few events this year and lots of DSMers come out, but only to watch. Lets try to get more DSM's out there to run in Street tuner!! Or even quick 16 class.

Good to hear, Jake. I plan on having the car together by the beginning of September and running it at Fontana in October. Will you be making it to that event?
