Friend of mine has a 92 TSI with a blown motor and an almost brand new 4g63 Turbo engine. He was asking me today if it would be a good idea. It's just his winter beater(even an auto), so it's not a racecar. Any opinions, comments, or better yet, how to's?

Since you're new to the site I'll explain it to you. Normally you do a N/T to Turbo conversion. Not just throwing a N/T motor in a Turbo. Thanks for trying but I'm guessing you haven't done this yet.

Okay, since some are still confused. I'm looking for guys running this set-up, and what boost levels they are running and for how long. And is there anything special the swap needed. If you are going to say search then please don't bother. If you just want to add a post count to your username go elseware.

8urwrx, thanks for the info. Did you ever turbo it?

Your asking if you can use an entire n/t long block to replace your busted turbo long block correct? If this is the case then yes you can swap it in. But you will need to use your turbo cams and be aware that the n/t has no oil squirters and higher 9.5:1 compression. This means that if you want the motor to last, you shouldnt boost much more than stock or drive it hard for extended periods of time.
