Previous Owner Removed the Lower Honey comb on my 2G!

is there anyway i can find just a honey comb any where? also could i use a 3" GM maf or would i need the translator for that? i know this is a really stupid question, but when it comes to tuning im a n00b.

To use the GM maf you NEED the translator.

i thought so. does anyone have a pic of their honey combs, because i seem to be missing the filter on the front, and the 2nd honey comb. all i see in there is a metal honey comb shaped thing. thats it. and i can see it if i remove the intake filter, or just lookin in from the back. tomorrow maybe ill post a pic of what i see.

Does your car run rich? I've heard it's ok to remove the combs. Except The big middle one. It's NOT recommended.

chris thats probobly why you were having problems last week, What i suggest you do is buy a new 2g maf from classifieds or soemthing like that and turn around and sell yours, people with 1g's buy those all the time.

Or somehow learn how to tune it with it out, do you have an afc???

Yeah Seriously AFC is really the way to go. I mean go ahead and Buy a stock MAF. If you go the AFC route, For your sake, your engines sake, and everyone else's sake on the road GO ALL OUT

i got one for free today!!! my boy got it off his salvaged talon. my car runs like a beast now. pulls much stronger because its gettin more fuel. holla. thanks for the help.

A free AFC? From a junk yard? Or a Used MAF? Cool if you got it for free, but how do you get more "fuel" with a new MAF? :laugh: :laugh: :laugh: I guess as long as your cars runnning like a "beast" its all good. Oh and I assume You mean it's running better, and not like a dog.

Just goes to show you that every car is different. Mine runs better without the honeycombs right now because it was TOO rich before.

how do you get more "fuel" with a new MAF?

because my car was running very lean w/o the other honey combs. i only had one honey comb in the middle. the ones on the sides and top were knocked out.

you get more fuel from the computer getting less air, there fore the computer says hey, i need more fuel because the honeycombs are blocking more air.
