hey guyz i have a 1998 eclipse gst spyder automatic and i am interested in upgrading the turbo to a evo3 16g.
I went to an automatic transmission shop (ATF in Ft.Lauderdale Fla.) and asked them about a rebuild. Im interested in low to mid 13's.
He said that it would cost about 2400 dollars to rebuild. This includes new 3300 stall torque converter, shift kit, end clutches, new buschings, dual tranny coolers, (one located in the stock intercooler area, and one in the same place on the drivers' side... i have a fmic) and 10 dollar per quart synthetic tranny fluid(cant remember the name of the product). He offers a 6 month , 6,000 mile warranty. ( i am going to try to get him to extend the warranty.)
There is more stuff i think , but i cant remember. like i said he says it will be fully built to handle 400hp. He makes all of his parts at the shop and he says it will take him about 5 days to do. He also says that this tranny will shift easy when im cruising on the road, and it will shift hard when at WOT.
I just want to know how feasible this sounds and if this is possible. Please share any suggestions that you may have, or any questions i shood ask him.
