Kitchener,
ON, Canada
so i spun a bearing this morning in my 97 tsi awd
Found a 1g 7 bolt locally complete minus the water pump/timing belt goodies.
165 155 155 160 compression
160k KMS on it (i'm Canadian remember)
so far what i have read is that i will have to treat it like a 6 bolt. in a 2g Except that im using a 2ghead to bypass the cas issues. my 97 head has the cam angle sensor on the opposite side of the gears.
Would just like to verify my findings.
have to use 1g waterpump yes?
and the one thing i couldnt find is if the lower mounts are the same or not.
i did notice about the drivers side mount needing ground a bit for the WP.
just looking for a bit of clarification.
Thanks.
Trying to get the car back on the road for xmas
