Hello everyone, I took advantage of FP Black Friday Sale and bought the new FP Red turbo, but I have not yet installed the turbo due to still buying supporting mods. I’m interested in knowing, is anyone running one and what kind of numbers are they putting down and your opinion on it. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

My profile is updated with all the parts purchased

They are a good 400-500hp turbo depending on what type of gas you run.My friend has one on his evo and it pulls real nice.He is running a little over 20psi on pump gas making around 400whp and feels like there is still alot more out of it.I am sure can make over 500+ with race gas or E85.Just also to mention he does have 272 cams and that really makes it shine.

Local guy out here was making 550whp with a red, in an evo 8. This was on a mustang dyno, 91 octane with meth injection, and 110* ambient temps.

Do you know how much boost? My friend babies his car so he doesn't want alot other wise I would make his ass go for 500whp.

Interested in this right now, im currently running the old school green, not the newer hta variant and am getting above 52lbs a min on it. Dyno'd at 412awhp and 434awtq at 25psi on pump with a few gallons of e85. Looking to get solid 450whp figures on just pump gas and thinking the red would do this no problem.

I would think 52lbs/min could get you over the 450WHP landmark? You could also send your green in for the HTA upgrade...somethink to think about.

I have a friend here locally that put 468WHP down on 30PSI/E85 and ran a 10.9x at the shootout with the newer HTA EVO Green.

My friend has the red hta. His was the first one wasn't meant to go into production but i guess it did. Turbo is amazing spools quickly and pulls like a freight train up top.
Good to hear spool was improved upon. The old 60-1 compressors had decent peak power, but they spooled slow and gave a crappy powerband.

Incorrect, unfortunately I emailed Brian and he informed me that they are two completely different turbos. There is no way to convert the old school FP green to HTA.

Damn. That's a buzzkill! Well I still hope you can meet your goals with the current turbo, it would save you a ton! Keep us posted.

Thanks guys for the feedback, I guess I'll be one of the first running the new style FP RED on a DSM once I get all my parts together.

It flows 60lbs/min. Some say more but thats what fp rates it at. On a great setup that equals 600hp.:thumb:

Read it also has an 8cm housing so i would think the spool is pretty damn good too, and its mitsu flanged.

I dont think the housing is the issue, I think it had to do with the weight of the turbine wheel (td06h) and the weight of a huge compressor like the 60-1. Now they are billet and FP has their 67mm turbine mated with it. I am sure that turbine kicks the MHI 67mm (tdo6h) turbine wheel, both if design and weight(hopefully), but I have faith R&D went into this turbine wheel, have you seen the new evoX 65mm wheel?

Does anyone have any pictures of this turbo, besides the one on FPs website?

Found a pretty good deal on a used one so I bought it. Should be here in about a week. I'll let you all know how it performs compared to the e316g thats on the car now.

Here are a few pictures of the compressor (sorry, I did not take any of the turbine). I bought this last year during the black Friday sale.
