1G 90 Eagle Talon Tsi fwd turbo no spark

Hey everyone,

I recently bought a dsm for 200$. I guess the guy tried hooking up a sub and amp than couldn't get it started again. Well I got it now and I checked for power to the coil and it has that, its just that there's no power coming out of the coil. Well I got one from a junkyard who says it was good and still no spark.I've been reading some sites and maybe narrowed it to being the spark transistor, coil, cam/crankshaft positioning sensor, electronic fuel ignition relay, I just don't know. It cranks over but there's no spark past the coil. I'm guessing he blew a fuse or relay, just which one? Any insight on this issue would be much appreciated.

Most likely its a blown fuse. Check all the main fuses at the + battery post.

There are only a few items that can cause this:
Blown ECM fuse (at battery post)
Bad CAS
Bad ECU
Bad Ignition Moduel (under coil)
Bad Coil (you ruled that out)

I may have forgot something....

Ok. I'm going to order a new coil and ignition module today along with new plugs and wires. I checked those fuses at the + terminal and they are all good. I will try these and see if anything changes. Any other thoughts?

A new coill check the old one first there not cheap, either a bad ecu or transistor pack. My coil packs lasted for over 10 years on used ones.

Thanks for the thoughts. Where's the transistor pack? Lol
So the coil, transistor pack, Cam angle sensor/ crank positioning sensor, aren't they one unit on this motor? Or the ecu. Well ill try it piece by piece and hope I get it running. Lol thanks guys, ill update as I go.

It would be smarter to test the components individually rather than randomly swapping parts. Here's how you would go about it, though if you'd rather swap parts, there's no stopping you either.

Sweet! Thanks for the info and links 19, yea i would rather test the components than spend the money.
But at this point i just want to get this beast running! I'll try this stuff and see what i can come up with.
