Turbo serial #498-017(5)0?

Alright I was told it was a 16G, but I have serious doubt it is. Please let me know if anyone knows what kind of turbo this really is. I am curious before I take it off and replace it with a MHI E316G Turbo...

According to This 16g Serial Number thread serial numbers for 16g are:

Small 16G
49178-01520
49178-05200

Big 16G
49178-01420

Evo I Big 16G
49178-01450

Evo II Big 16G
49178-01460

Evo III Big 16G
49178-01470

14b's also start with 491 according to that thread. Did a google search and drew a big blank for your serial number you gave. Possibly an ebay turbo?

Do you have a picture of the compressor blades? If you measure the wheels, that will help tell you.

Thats my guess because the serial nuber you gave was incomplete. The one above I came up with is from looking at your picture.

Wow... I can't believe I typeoed my the title which is the serial number. I think the 14G is a winner. I knew the turbo had no balls.
