Okay im about to buy a new gst this weekend and all thats wrong wit it he says is it spun a rod bearing. .. Would my crank most likely be damaged to. . .he says he hasnt been runnin it, or ### are some comman prob. From this thanks!

Probably will need the crank turned, usually it eats the crank up when the bearing grabs it.

Most likely it will have a crank that needs to be eather polished or turned.if caught early just a polish.but if late will need a turn.the turn will cost a lot because there are balls that have to be laser cut out or will have shavings.the shavings will make u have oil problems.then u need rod and main bearings.then there is a chance u may need to replace a rod do to the spin.and all new gaskets.on top of a hone and hot tank to clean out the metal shavings.

it depends on how bad the crank has been chewed up, and weather it is a rod or main bearing that has the damage.

when you drop the oil pan, look at the big ends of the rods and see if they are all about the same color, if you have one that is much darker to black, you may be in for more that you first think.

your best net is to drop the oil pan and inspect all the bearings. While your doing this I would also check for crank play. If the bearings are bad and you cant really see anything wrong with the crank, i would take the crank to a local machine shop and have it checked.

Start with the smallest thing first. Check all your main and rod bearings. if there is any scoring you will more than likely need to have your crank turned and rods possibly resized. When choosing bearings make sure and get clevite bearings because they always have excellent measurements. However if you have the money i would spring for some ACL race bearings. They come precoated as well but they are much more expensive than your average bearings. Hope this helps ya. good luck

Both would be an easy and inexpensive fix, just no time to do it because i am a college student.Car does not
leak any fluids. All aftermarket parts were installed at a well known tuner shop in Columbus and
all reciepts and records are kept.

As long as it has what ## saying it has, I would buy that yesterday. However, its going to be much more than $40 to fix that bearing. Just so you know. Let me know how it works out.

. Make sure he can prove all those parts.

We all know its more than forty bucks or why wouldnt he just fix it.

OOOOOOO cause hes in college and cant scratch 40 bucks up......!!!

But if he can prove all the work I say go for it sounds like a decent deal
