SMIM heater hose

Well I think this is a stupid question but can't find the answer. I have a JMF SMIM w/ 1G TB so the end of the water pipe (where the heater hose goes) pretty much runs straight into the TB. Neither the water pipe nor the heater hose has enough flex in it. I've looked at other peoples setup and a lot of people just cap it off and don't use the heater hose. The only thing I can think of it a FIAV block off plate. Any ideas? Thanks

You could use a barbed 90* of the proper size and some hose clamps if there's room.
