[RESOLVED] hole in Koyo Aluminum Radiator

I just got a Koyo Aluminum Radiator from my brother in law. It has a hole in one of the fins, a pen tip size hole. I live in north east PA. Nobody around here will weld it, every shop I walk in looked at me like I'm crazy. Does anyone know someone in the tri state that will fix it, that does good work. Or has anyone had the same problem and fixed it them self.Thanks

JB weld. It took care of a pin hole leak in one of my radiators I had in a civic.

Look for a radiator shop. I have one here locally in louisiana that repairs radiators.

+1. I jb welded a crack in a radiator in my hyundai I had like 10 years ago. I know the guy I sold it to 5 years ago and it is still holding!

Yeah, thats gonna be a PITA to weld.

Thanks, I did not know there were shops just for radiators, I thought there were welding shops and that's it. Found some shops nearby. I will call Monday morning thanks for the help, and if they don't help I will try jb weld. I would rather have it welded.

I have also used JBweld on a radiator when mine got punctured at the track. Made it home fine so I ran it the rest of the year which was about 6 events, never had an issue with it.

aluminum radiators take solder very well it is more permanent than jb weld very cheap and very efficiant and is very easy for anyone to do.

IF you've got a harbor freight nearby they sell a stick for brazing aluminum and you can do it with a propane torch that you can buy for 20 bucks at home depot. THe brazing stick is called "aluma-weld" IIRC and i have some of it here, if you can't find anyone to do it i'll even send ya a piece of what i got in the mail... it's pretty good stuff for light aluminum repairs

I have a harbor freight nearby, I'm going to try the radiator shops first if they can't help me I will try that. Thanks
