I found some threads but not much info.Turbo seals bad??I just got this turbo its a small 16g and just did a blt.I got a feeling it was sitting for awhile. The boost coming from the breather is terrible. It does blow a little smoke. Is there any way to replace these seals??Or if there's any other explanations or ways i can find out why its doing this.Any help would be appreciated.

Do a blt from the tb elbow, if it's still blowing out the breather then cap off the pcv valve nipple on the intake manifold and do another blt. If problem's fixed then you have a bad pcv valve, if not then look to your motor. The majority of the time it's just a bad pcv valve. Even my 1 week old oem one went bad on me so you never know.

Alright i did a blt on the intake manifold. Its still blowing a little boost threw the breather. But not as much as before when i did it on the turbo. But now i found out i have oil in my intake manifold. Its not just residue. Its fresh oil just sitting on the bottom of the tubing. And its still smoking.Any reasons why all this could be happening at the same time??.The turbo has no shaft play at all.Its like new but I don't know how long it was sitting or anything..Any info would be helpful at this point..

maybe its blow-by? apparently if the piston rings are worn then explosion gases get into the crankcase, overwhelming the pcv valve and then oil get pumped out the breather into the intake. The BLT air can get past also I think.

My car also has oil in the tubes and I get boost leaking out the breather also. If its only a little I don't see it causing a big problem but I also get oil leaking out around the oil cap onto the valve cover, and that bugs me. Thats why some people install the oil catch cans on their breather.

did you block off the pcv valve hose like habitatguy said? Then try the compression test like Jus said. I've heard oldman suggest turning the engine to 30 degrees ATDC to close off the valves during a boost leak test but you'll have to re-check the exact procedure in case I'm mistaken.

Wheres the smoke coming from? The only other place I know for oil to get in the intake is past the turbo O-ring
