topline piston rings

does anyone know if you can use hastings rings with the topline pistons . need to know before I sell my motor .thanks

There is a difference in 1g and 2g pistons and rings. I wouldnt think a company would design pistons that only their rings will work with.

mine is the 1g ,and I am selling it to my buddy ,I am picking up a fully built short block on the weekend . he bought a 90 awd last week with the motor blown in it for $600 bucks .now he want,s my motor but want,s to change the rings on the .20 over pistons which are topline .

i would contact topline to see if they will work. Topline sells .20 piston rings he can buy dont they?

maybe I will convince him to go with the weisco pistons . everything else is done to the motor ,I will be letting him have it for $500 bucks which is very cheap ,and doesn,t even cover the machine work on the block . so I think he can suck up the cost for the better pistons .

I wouldnt rebuild a motor that has been rebuilt. I would be happy to get a rebuilt motor for 500.
