Just came across a few motor build threads and decided I should post my personal build. Some of you socal guys know already that I blew up motor number #3 a few weeks ago and its just been crazy getting the new one together and in. Time frame of everything, not counting waiting for parts, 3 hours pulling old motor. Assembling new and installing new motor about 28 hours. Yes, I was at the shop from 3pm one afternoon till about 7pm the next day. Forgot the galley plug between the block and tranny so tranny had to come back out. Don't mind the crappy phone pics.

Actually its done, been done since Monday last week. I already have 500miles on it too ^__^.

Good looking build. You're a bit ahead of me. I was going to put on my oil pan yesterday, and notice that the oil screen needs to be bolted down to one of the ARP main bolts, but the hole on my oil screen is now to small. Did you have this same problem?

Haha, I'm by no means rich. 22yrs old, live on my own, and RRE doesn't pay that well. I'm in debt up to my eyeballs actually. HAHA.

If you are using ARP mains, just saw off the oil pickup mounting bracket.

This is actually my 4th engine and 3rd motor build for myself plus a few for others for friends and other people, so I have some experience. Plus working where I do has its benefits. A lift and every other tool imaginable. But been the backyard motor builder like alot of people here. Love the DSM DIY community, something you don't see with the rich EVO kids, but hey, they sign my paychecks and keep us in business.

Sweet j pipe i love the set up, is that your custom made i c set up or is that an ets if you dont mind. I love the build an valve cover.

Nice build... Everything looks great, I still remember when I did my both of my 4G63's 1 for my talon and 1 for my Eclipse.. I kept them both on the stock bore since I didnt have that much to build a bad ass bottom end.. great work:thumb:

Thanks, that makes sense. Also, if you dont mind, when I put on the oil pan, Do you put the rear main seal on after you take it off the engine stand? Sorry if this sounds stupid, but this is my first build. :p

I was able to get the real main seal on while my motors were on stands. I have two different stands too.

Yhea I put the rear main seal on while on the stand, took some finness but it's possible. And yes, total custom FMIC setup, if it weren't for the maf-t, I'd only have 4 couplers.
