I am planning on converting to HID with a sharphid kit. I am either going to buff out my stock headlight housings or new projector housings. I know somebody that has a set of the projector housings and the fitment wasn't good compared to the OEM housings. If there are any projector housings out there that fit really nice then I would go that route.

On another note...what is everybodies opinion on the cutoff on the stock housings on a 2g? I hear its pretty good compared to most other cars.

Do note that there are 2 different 2G head lights. If he bought a 2gb housing but needed a 2ga then there would be a size difference. I've not seen many problems with aftermarket housings for DSMs before but hey, people make mistakes I guess.

2ga = 1995-1996
2gb = 1997-1999

They have different size bumpers, and lights.

I am not trying to do a retro fit. I want as close to "plug-n-play" as I can get. Here are the halos that I am looking into...

CCFL Halo Projector for 2gb

They look like stock when viewed from the rear. I want to put a sharphid 5000k kit in there. I think that is close enough to the quality of a retrofit for me. How much different would the quality be between my suggested route and a true retrofit?

i say be the first one to try it and post pics haha...
i know my friend got some oem headlights from ebay and the adjusters to aim the beam"lights" dose not work...the back looks just like the ones in that ebay link you posted
...i would buy them see if the cutoff line is sharp if not see if you CAN put some acura TL
projectors in there to replace the ebay ones....sound like a plan to me:thumb:

DO IT

bacardi and cola...do it do it. :p

I was hoping that projector housings would make for better cutoff than our OEM housings. putting in some TL hardware would be the way to go to make it work though. I think I am going to get the HID conversion kit and see how it looks in the stock 2gb housings and go from there.

Hopefully, if it works out, I may set a trend.

You can find OEM 2G(b) headlights all over the internet, craigslist, ebay, etc for less than $50

Unless you really have the money to waste on headlights and want to have those in the link you posted I'd suggest not doing it and use the money for performance mods and not visual mods.

I been looking for OEM projector housings without halos. Nowhere to be found. I thought I might have found some but they are all chrome inside. :barf:

I am spending money on performance. I just got done putting in SS brake lines, hawk hps brake pads, slotted and crossdrilled rotors. Worked out great aside from the fact that when I changed them I found out that both my front calipers were seized up and beyond the point of rebuild. LOL. Brand new calipers up front now. Painting red soon.

My stock headlights are scuffed beyond the point of buffing as well. It is time for some new ones and I think that this combo that I came up with should do the trick. I found this picture of somebody that did it on the forums about 1.5 years ago...

Not that bad. He didn't have it aligned right but I think it should do the job nicely with it all dialed in. Any thoughts?
