which turbo tdo6H 20g or fp green
I was wondering what turbo would be best for a stock motor (7 bolt) 2g that is in great running condition and no signs of crankwalk. Which turbo would be best matched for the power handling capabilities of the motor. Their will be all support mods done. Also which one has the best spoolup to power ratio.

You probably should go with a 16g if you're intending to stay with a stock block and head.
Advancing to a bigger turbo you need to get bigger system, fmic, exhaust, some sort of tuning device, etc... I mean with a 16g and those other mods mention above it could possible be capable of 350-400hp.

Yes, Holset and Borg Warner will outspool and is capable of more putting out more power but I do think you get anything out of those turbo in he's intending to stay with a complete stock block and head.

Even with a stock block and head...the hx 35 in a BEP will do him great. flows like a 50 trim, nowhere near that price range, and gives a good amount of room to grow.
and with the BEP, throw it on his manifold, and put an external wastegate on there, all set.

Someone on dsmtalk was talking about how FP is not making the Green or Red turbo's right now.. Don't quote me on that though.

The HX35 will definitely outspool and put out more power than Green and that goes the same with the HX40 vs. the Red.

I'd recommend a 20g if those are the only 2 turbo's that your open to hearing about. If you are interested in other choices however, the FP 18g 6sl2 is one to consider as well.

20g for me, it's the best of both worlds. You can trap 120+ with enough fuel and still pull like a 16g on steroilds around town. I was able to spool it like a 14b on stock compression and it pulled to 7500 when I let it. It's mitsu, and i've never had one fail. It's the only turbo i've owned more then twice, and it feels that much better on spray.

If I had to choose between those two, it would be the green.

What kind of damn 20g did you have. The td06 20g spools like a dog. First time I heard anyone say one spools like a 14b. My 16g dont even spool that fast.
The green is rated around 50 lb/min where the 20g is around 45 lb/min. So the green should push more air. I think they started making them again too.
Also the stock long block can handle a lot. I bought a 16g and wish I went larger to get the 350-400whp mark I had to run e85 and max the turbo to its limits. Where with a larger turbo you can boost 20-25psi and make 450whp. Then when you build a better motor you could turn it up 30-35psi without having to upgrade again.

I'm gonna have to say the hx35 in the bep housing or the fp green. the hx35 Spools like a 14b and flows 52lb/min.
If you were going to get a td05 20g I'd just get a evo3 flows almost the same when maxed out and with the extra money you could get some cams.

My 2.4L +Buschur TD06 20G is like a limitless 14b. I would go 16g if I didn't have the 2.4L though, unless you have serious power plans and if that is so, scrap your stock idea.
