The 420a and 4g63 coilpack is basically the same in a sense but have different plugs. My MSD coilpack is for an SRT-4

Are they the same... No, can you use the 420a coil pack on the 4g63... Yes if you change the plug on your car to fit the 420a coil pack or vise versa and so-on

90's come with a 4th pin in the plug that gives the tach signal.
You can use a 90 on a 91+ but you will need a different plug end and you just leave the tach signal wire.
On the 91+ the transistor pack handles the tach signal.

The actual coils can be used across all the 4G63's but the brackets, wiring, and additional circuitry is different as Spike points out. The 90 coil pack assembly is unique to the 90 DSMs. Within the same group of model years the coil packs from the turbo and non-turbo 4G63's are interchangable.

I already told you, change the plug on your harness to fit the 420a coil if that is what you want to use.
