Alright, I know some of this stuff is supposed to be there, but I'd just like some feedback on what this all is.
So thanks for looking.

Alright. This is in the back behind the seats. Shouldn't this go to something? All this attaches to is the chassis. Any info?

And what should I do about this. The previous owner made a complete mess of this. Can I make it look neater some way? Does anyone have a wiring diagram of how this is SUPPOSED to look like? Theres a lot of hanging wires that are just chillin back there. This worries me, I don't want to short something with this.

And then finally. What's this clip for under my seat?

Thank you so much for any ideas you may have.

he looks like he went with the ghetto twist and tape method to install that deck..

surprisingly though ive heard of shops do that method not just for decks but also for alarms.. damn

at least crimping with connectors are more secure and neat IMO..

there should be wiring diagrams for the stereo stuff here or on vfaq. if you want to clean it out pull the deck and do just that.. clean it up. get some new connectors. get a wire loom if you want to step it up even more.

get a din pocket so you dont have a huge gaping hole there

I'm actually buying a single din with 3 gauge pods on the bottom.
I'm happy that I have a pioneer deck, but not happy about the wiring.
Alright so that answers 1/3 questions I have.

Top pic looks like an antenna wire. and the bottom pic is for the seatbelt. (not sure but I think so)

The first pic is for sure amp ground wire from wallmart

So now you know that the prev owner shoped at wallmart

you may want to check this whole car over for wallmart parts LOL

If the car has a 6 speaker system like they mostly do. You will need to make sure that they reran wire to the speakers before you reinstall the deck

the front 2 speaker and door speakers ar tied together @ 2ohm i think

2ohm will fry the deck

The factory fronts in my car were a 12ohm and a 2-or-3-ohm in parellel, my calculations at the time summed to 4 ohms, which shouldn't fry anything. But those speakers sucked, and so do the wires. You should just run new wires anyway.

Yes the Black wire is a ground for an amp. About the fromt speakers I dont know thr ohm load but when i got my 95 i put an amtermarket head unit in and I just did it right and bought the Harness plug so i didnt have to cut the factory connector out. That and some barrel crimps and it worked great. I have the six speakers and my haed unit has always worked great so i dont think the ohm load will cause you any trouble.

The first pic looks like a ground wire from someone installing an aftermarket amp. The clip is for the seatbelt sensor on the dash

++1:thumb: Looks like he took the system when he sold you the car and did a crappy job at it. That thick black wire is either for the amp or ground wire that was connected to the chassis. and the cable under the seat for when your seat belt is not plugged it advises you on the dashboard.
