i have white smoke coming from my exhaust..just white and a light gray color, no blue or black or anything

is this most likely the head gasket,i have not had a compression test on the car

what would be the signs of a coolant leak?
what are the signs of an oil leak?

is there any chance that the bottom block of the engine is cracked??

also before the car started to smoke i had to change the oil pan gasket becacuse it was leaking

White smoke is from burning coolant. Check to see if there in any oil in the radiator and check dipstick to see if any coolant is in the oil. You can also use a pressure tester and pressurize the radiator, remove the spark plugs then crank the motor and see if water shoots out of the cylinders. If so your head gasket is shot. I think you can rent these testers at autozone (looks like a keg tap). The signs of a coolant or oil leak would be coolant or oil on your driveway. And no the engine block is not gonna be cracked.

Whitish gray smoke is not always coolant. Check your turbo for shaft play by taking off the intake pipe and sticking your fingers into the turbo's compressor inlet. Grasp the compressor wheel nut with your fingers and try to wiggle it up and down, side to side, and in and out. Any in and out play is likely a sign of a shot turbo. Noticeable play in side or vertical directions also indicates worn bearings and seals. Check your lower intercooler pipe for pooling oil also.

I see you changed the oil pan gasket. this is what you did your oil return line going to the oil pan has a restriction in it straighten it out an your problem is gone. I did that when i pulled my oil off. Just dont try to run it hard. Also you might want to take of the intercooler pipes an wash out the intercooler. Do that to the intake pipe too oil just got past your seals from the pressure. They will seal up once you fix the restriction there.
