What should I do? everything is brand new, so this hurts, i just heard a pop when i started lowering the engine in... everything line up perfectly, so i was suspicious, and i found a crack at the block where the front mount is bolted to the 6bolt block, the very top bolt, its a 3/4 crack around the bolt what should i do? Should I use lots and lots of JB weld?

can youget one bolt in it? if so i would go with the one bolt and not worry about it! :thumb:
as long as all your other mounts are good you should have not problems. i know a guy who has been running with out that mount all together and he has had no problems.

The front of the engine, the motor mount broke at the top mounting bolt, of the front bolt, it broke under and a little bit around the bolt, it is still attached to the block, and i ddidn't have the last bolt of that mount on becuase i coudln't find it, and ran it with only 1 bolt before. Should i just try to bolt the other one and go with jb weld just for stability?

You can always try this: HTS-528. A MAPP Gas torch may be enough to get up to temp and this rod can be used as filler.

I have used their aluminum rod and it works pretty good. Not as easy as they make it seem but I think I am getting the hang of it.

Well here is the problem, Before whoever had my car didn't have the crossmemebers completly aligned, so now that the bottom of the car, is bolted and aligned, i do notice that there is like a 2 inch gap difference from the block to the mount than last time, how can this be though? It is perfectly aligned and everything. what the F happend?

Has the car ever been wrecked ? You would be surprised how much stuff can get knocked out of alignment in even the smallest little fender bender. Another thing is if you have the front of the car jacked or blocked up it can also distort alignment on things all depending on where it is held up.

Also if your subframe is bent or cracked that can distort the whole suspension/motor mounts alignment. I just replaced the motor mounts and all suspension bushings with the energy suspension units. I had to loosen the front subframe nuts to get the crossmember bolts started on re-assembly as they were almost 1/2 an inch off, and this was just from changing the bushings out.

Well if it is aligned wrong some how, could i just bolt the bottom one and jb weld the crack? or what i don't know what to do and i don't have time or money, everything is brand new... im so nervous right now

Well you could just put one bolt in and call it good. If the rest of your motor mounts are in good shape then you will probably be fine. I would be easy on it for a while as one launch and it could break. I would have it welded or in my case I would braze repair the crack, but I have on many occasions done band-aid repairs just so I can get around and then go all out and do it correctly later.

But I am worried with that is if that is off what else could be off? What if the driveshaft to xfer case is off and the angle is wrong causing grinding etc... I was thinking if its in place now, bolt the bottom one as tight as possible, and jb weld the shit out of the crack, then it not only has the bottom bolt thread a little bit, but has the other bolt with jb weld.

I really need help guys, I just tried bolting the bottom bolt and it was tightening then just shot back again, I don't know whats going on

i know plenty of people who dont use that mount period. but i have no idea how that gap would have gotten bigger

It's iron, have a professional weld it adn re-tap it just to be safe. I have had several blocks welded, but they were all out of the car at the time, but i'm sure some one good could ge the metla up to temp and then stick or heli-arc it while it's int eh car. I'd jsut make sure to replace oil pan gaskets, and anything else like that near the welded area since it will get super hot.

Just to be clear are you talking about the top bolt in teh front mount and it's kind of behind teh round area so to speak??? you basically reach it with a box end wrench or can see it looking down at teh front mount while it's in teh car?
